And this is my story.
I’ve always loved reading.
Long before personal development books, business books, and financial literacy books filled my shelves, I was the girl who couldn’t put down a good “ghetto” love story. I would get lost in the drama, the relationships, the resilience, and the journeys of characters who felt real. Reading has always been my escape. My happy place. It is one thing that consistently brings me joy.
What I didn’t know was that books would one day help save me. Several years ago, I found myself in one of the most difficult seasons of my life.
I was divorced, overweight, and carrying thousands of dollars in debt.
Like many women, I was showing up for everyone else while quietly struggling myself. From outside, I appeared fine. I went to work. I paid my bills. I handled my responsibilities. But inside, I felt stuck, defeated, and disconnected from the woman I knew I could be. I wanted more for my life, but I didn’t know where to begin.
So, I turned to the constant thing I knew: books. At first, I was looking for a distraction. Instead, I found transformation. I began reading books about personal growth, healing, finances, confidence, wellness, relationships, and purpose. Every book taught me something. Every chapter challenged me to think differently. Every lesson helped me take one more step forward.
When I couldn’t afford a coach, books became my coach. When I felt lost, books became my guide. When I needed encouragement, books reminded me that change was possible.
One chapter at a time, I began rebuilding my life. I started losing weight. I became more intentional with my finances. I learned healthier habits. I gained confidence. I invested in myself. Most importantly, I started believing in myself again.
As I continued growing, I realized something powerful: books can change your life. But community can change it even faster. I wanted a space where women can come together around books and growth. A space where we can exchange resources, share wisdom, support one another, and build genuine friendships. A space where women can feel seen, encouraged, and empowered no matter what chapter of life they are in.
That vision became, The Golden Chapter.
The name was inspired by the Golden Hour in photography. The Golden Hour is the brief period shortly after sunrise and before sunset when the light is at its most beautiful. During that time, everything appears softer, warmer, richer, and more radiant.
To me, that light represents what happens when women invest in themselves.
We heal.
We grow.
We learn.
We evolve.
We become more confident, more intentional, and more radiant than we were before.
The Golden Chapter is a symbol of that transformation. It’s the chapter where a woman decides she is worthy of more. The chapter where she chooses growth over comfort. The chapter where she stops simply surviving and starts thriving.
Whether you’re rebuilding after heartbreak, pursuing a dream, improving your finances, prioritizing your wellness, or simply looking for your tribe, there is a place for you here! Because every woman deserves a community that reminds her of her strength, her potential, and her purpose.
My hope is that through The Golden Chapter, women will discover what I discovered: Sometimes the right book can change your life. And sometimes the women you meet because of that book can change it too.
Welcome to The Golden Chapter.
